القرض الحسن
This verse invites us to an act of generosity with immense promises.
مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يُقۡرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنٗا فَيُضَٰعِفَهُۥ لَهُۥ وَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرٞ كَرِيمٞ
Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He will multiply it for him and he will have a noble reward
Quran, Al-Hadid 57:11
The verse compares spending for Allah's cause to lending to Allah Himself. This loan is called 'good' because it is done sincerely and with the intention to please Allah. In return, Allah promises to multiply it and grant a noble reward. In the previous verse, Allah reminds us that everything we possess ultimately belongs to Him. Spending for His cause is to acknowledge this reality and place our trust in Him. Today, we can put this teaching into practice by giving of our time or wealth to support a useful cause.
Today, give a small amount of money or a bit of your time to a good cause, intending it as a loan to Allah.
