This verse teaches us to ask forgiveness for ourselves and for all believers.
"Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts any resentment toward those who have believed."
Quran, Al-Hashr 59:10
In this verse, the believers who came after the first Muslims pray for them and for all believers. They ask Allah to forgive their sins and to purify their hearts from any resentment. This prayer combines forgiveness and purity of heart. Each day, we can do the same: ask forgiveness for ourselves and for others, and check that our hearts hold no bitterness. This is a way to strengthen our bond with Allah and with the community.
Today, in your prayer, ask forgiveness for yourself and for all believers, and make an effort to forgive someone who has hurt you.
