صِدْق
This verse challenges us about the gap between our words and our actions.
لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ
Why do you say what you do not do?
Quran, As-Saff 61:2
Allah addresses the believers with a direct question: why say what you do not do? The following verse clarifies that this attitude is greatly detested by Allah. Sincerity (sidq) requires consistency between what we claim and what we accomplish. In our daily lives, we often make promises without being sure we can keep them. This verse invites us to weigh our words and only commit when we can truly act.
Today, before making a promise, take a moment to check if you can keep it. If you have already promised something, fulfill it or inform the person of your inability.
