This verse invites us to fear Allah as much as we can and to protect ourselves from stinginess.
So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
Quran, At-Taghaabun 64:16
This verse brings together several pieces of advice: fear Allah, listen, obey, and spend. It states that this is better for us. It also links success to being protected from the stinginess of one's soul. In our daily lives, this means doing our best to follow divine teachings while giving of our time or wealth, without letting selfishness dominate us.
Today, identify a small act of generosity (helping someone, giving charity) and do it with the intention of protecting yourself from stinginess.
