إِنْفَاق
This verse teaches us to spend according to our means, without excess or negligence.
لِيُنفِقۡ ذُو سَعَةٖ مِّن سَعَتِهِۦۖ وَمَن قُدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقُهُۥ فَلۡيُنفِقۡ مِمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُۚ لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا مَآ ءَاتَىٰهَاۚ سَيَجۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بَعۡدَ عُسۡرٖ يُسۡرٗا
Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allah has given him. Allah does not charge a soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allah will bring about, after hardship, ease.
Quran, At-Talaaq 65:7
This verse, addressed to those who provide for their families, reminds us that everyone should spend according to their capacity. Allah never asks more than what He has given. After hardship, He promises ease. In our daily lives, this invites us to be generous without putting ourselves in difficulty, and to trust Allah to improve our situation.
Today, assess your expenses and choose an amount within your means to help someone, even a modest one.
