سُجُود
This verse reminds us of the importance of prostration while we are still able to do it.
وَقَدۡ كَانُواْ يُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمۡ سَٰلِمُونَ
But they were invited to prostration while they were sound.
Quran, Al-Qalam 68:43
In this verse, Allah describes the Day when eyes will be humbled and humiliation will cover people. They will be called to prostrate, but they will not be able to. Yet, they were invited to prostration while they were sound. The verse combines regret and the reminder of a missed opportunity. Today, we have health and the ability to prostrate. It is a simple and accessible act of worship. Let us not let negligence deprive us of this moment of closeness to Allah. Each prostration is a response to that call.
Today, during each prayer, perform your prostration with awareness and gratitude, taking time to feel close to Allah.
