When wealth is of no avail

This verse reminds us that material possessions can do nothing against the reality of the Hereafter.

مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡ

My wealth has not availed me.

Quran, Al-Haaqqa 69:28

In this passage, a person realizes that their wealth has been of no use to them. The following verse adds that their authority has also vanished. Thus, the Quran associates wealth and power, two things that seem important here, but fade in the Hereafter.

We may be tempted to rely on our possessions or status. Yet this verse invites us to reflect: what truly matters is what we do with what we have. This is a personal suggestion, but it stems from the idea that wealth does not save.

Today, take a moment to identify one of your possessions and ask yourself how you can use it to do a good deed, even a small one.
