أَمَانَة
This verse describes an essential quality of the believers: faithfulness to trusts and commitments.
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَٰعُونَ
And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive
Quran, Al-Ma'aarij 70:32
In this passage, Allah mentions the believers who watch over the trusts and commitments entrusted to them. This includes possessions, secrets, promises, and responsibilities. The previous verse speaks of those who guard their chastity, and the following one mentions uprightness in testimonies. Thus, reliability is a central trait of the believer's character. In our daily lives, we often have things entrusted to us: a password, a secret, a borrowed item, or a task at work. Being trustworthy means honoring these deposits, even when no one is watching. This builds trust and peace in our relationships.
Today, identify a trust or commitment you have received (a secret, an object, a task) and fulfill it with care, quietly.
