شَهَادَة
This verse describes an essential quality of the believers: being firm in their testimony.
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمۡ قَآئِمُونَ
And those who are in their testimonies upright
Quran, Al-Ma'aarij 70:33
In Surah Al-Ma'aarij, Allah enumerates the traits of sincere believers. After mentioning faithfulness to trusts and covenants, He associates with these qualities the act of standing upright in testimony. This means telling the truth, even when it is difficult. In our daily lives, we are often witnesses to situations: a conflict, a mistake, an injustice. Being upright in testimony means refusing to distort facts, whether to favor a relative or to protect oneself. It is an act of justice that requires courage.
Today, if you witness a situation, describe the facts accurately, without adding or omitting anything.
