مُحَافَظَة عَلَى الصَّلَاة
This verse describes an essential quality of the believers: watching over their prayer.
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمۡ يُحَافِظُونَ
and those who [carefully] maintain their prayer
Quran, Al-Ma'aarij 70:34
In this passage, Allah mentions several qualities of the believers. He brings together faithfulness in testimony and regularity in prayer. The word 'يُحَافِظُونَ' implies continuous attention, constant care. It is not just about performing the prayer, but preserving it, in its time, conditions, and focus. In our daily lives, this vigilance translates into simple actions: preparing for prayer on time, avoiding distractions, and returning to it with sincerity. Even when busy, we can cultivate this regularity. It is a habit that grows with practice.
Today, choose one prayer and perform it with full concentration, as a first step toward greater vigilance.
