Seeking Allah's Forgiveness

This verse invites us to ask forgiveness from our Lord.

ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارٗا

Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.

Quran, Nooh 71:10

In this verse, Noah tells his people: 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.' He does not ask them to perform a complicated ritual, but simply to turn to Allah sincerely. The word 'istighfar' means to seek forgiveness, and Allah is described as 'Ghaffar', the One who forgives abundantly and continuously.

In our daily lives, we make mistakes and commit sins. This verse reminds us that Allah's forgiveness is always accessible. We do not need an intermediary: we can address Him directly, with humility and trust. It is an open door to lighten our hearts and return to Him.

Today, take a minute to sincerely say: 'My Lord, I ask Your forgiveness for my faults.'
