قِيَام
This verse describes the Prophet standing to supplicate Allah, and the reaction of the people around him.
لَمَّا قَامَ عَبۡدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدۡعُوهُ
When the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass.
Quran, Al-Jinn 72:19
The verse shows the Prophet ﷺ standing in supplication. Those around him crowd closely, almost forming a compact mass. The text does not specify their intentions, but it shows that public supplication draws attention. Today, we too can stand to supplicate Allah, even if it may surprise those around us. What matters is the sincerity of our call, as the next verse reminds us: "I only invoke my Lord."
Today, stand up and supplicate Allah with a short phrase, such as "My Lord, guide me," with sincerity.
