إِخْلَاص
This verse teaches us the heart of sincerity: to call only upon Allah, without associating anyone with Him.
قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَدۡعُواْ رَبِّي وَلَآ أُشۡرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدٗا
Say, "I only invoke my Lord and do not associate with Him anyone."
Quran, Al-Jinn 72:20
In this verse, Allah commands the Prophet ﷺ to declare that he only invokes his Lord. He turns only to Him and does not associate anyone with Him. This verse brings together two essential aspects of sincerity: exclusive invocation and the absence of association. In our daily lives, we can apply this by directing our prayers, requests, and hopes only to Allah. Before acting, we can ask ourselves if our intention is pure and if we rely only on Him.
Today, before each important action, silently make a supplication to Allah alone, asking Him to help you be sincere.
