The night, a time to focus

This verse invites us to discover a privileged moment for prayer and meditation.

إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيۡلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطۡـٔٗا وَأَقۡوَمُ قِيلًا

Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.

Quran, Al-Muzzammil 73:6

Verse 6 of Surah Al-Muzzammil mentions the night prayer (nāshi'at al-layl). It says that it is more effective and more suitable for recitation. The previous verse speaks of the revelation of heavy words, and the next one reminds us of the occupations of the day. Thus, the night is a calm time, conducive to concentration.

In our daily lives, we are often distracted by noise and tasks. The night offers a peaceful setting to refocus. We can choose a moment, even a short one, to pray or read the Quran attentively.
