تَبَتُّل
This verse invites us to turn entirely to Allah.
وَٱذۡكُرِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلۡ إِلَيۡهِ تَبۡتِيلٗا
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.
Quran, Al-Muzzammil 73:8
The verse combines two actions: remembering the name of Allah and devoting oneself entirely to Him. The word 'tabattul' implies detachment from worldly concerns to turn to Him. The previous verse mentions the long occupations of the day, making this invitation particularly meaningful. In our busy lives, we can take a moment to refocus on what matters: our relationship with Allah. This does not require abandoning everything, but giving Him a sincere place in our hearts.
Today, take a minute to mention the name of Allah and entrust your occupations to Him.
