إطعام الطعام
This verse describes a sincere generosity that does not count the cost.
وَيُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينٗا وَيَتِيمٗا وَأَسِيرًا
And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.
Quran, Al-Insaan 76:8
The verse brings together three acts of generosity: feeding the needy, the orphan, and the captive. It specifies that these people give food 'in spite of love for it', meaning even if they love it and need it themselves. This shows a sincere giving, done without trying to keep it for oneself. In our daily lives, we can share what we love, not just what is extra. Offering a meal to someone in need, or even to a loved one, with a willing heart, is a simple gesture that reflects this spirit.
