طُغْيَان
This verse invites us to reflect on the notion of overstepping limits.
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
So as for he who transgressed
Quran, An-Naazi'aat 79:37
Verse 37 of Surah An-Naazi'aat speaks of the one who has transgressed. The Arabic word 'ṭughyān' means going beyond bounds, straying into excess. The following verse clarifies that this person preferred the present life, and verse 36 shows that Hellfire will be visible to all. In our daily lives, we may sometimes be tempted to overstep limits, whether in our speech, actions, or choices. This verse reminds us of the importance of moderation and restraint.
Today, before acting, ask yourself: am I overstepping a limit? If so, choose a more measured action.
