تَزْكِيَة
This verse teaches us that purification is the key to success.
قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself
Quran, Al-A'laa 87:14
In this verse, Allah announces that whoever purifies himself (tazakka) has succeeded. The word tazakka comes from the root tazkiyah, meaning to purify. The following verse mentions remembering the name of one's Lord and praying, showing that purification is linked to faith and prayer. Today, we can purify ourselves by turning to Allah, acknowledging our faults, and seeking to improve. This can be an inner act, such as sincerely repenting or asking for forgiveness.
Take a moment today to purify yourself inwardly: acknowledge a fault, ask Allah for forgiveness, and decide to improve.
