Remind without forcing

This verse defines the believer's mission: to remind, not to compel.

فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٞ

So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.

Quran, Al-Ghaashiya 88:21

In this passage, Allah addresses the Prophet ﷺ, giving him a clear mission: to convey the reminder. The verse emphasizes the limit of this mission: the Prophet ﷺ is not a controller. He cannot force hearts to accept. His role is to awaken consciences, not to coerce.

This word concerns us too. In our families, friendships, and work, we are sometimes tempted to convince at all costs. But the verse invites us to gentleness: we sow, we remind, and we leave guidance to Allah.

Today, remind one person of something good in a gentle way, without insisting if they are not ready.
