تَزْكِيَة
This verse teaches us that purifying our soul is the path to success.
قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
He has succeeded who purifies it.
Quran, Ash-Shams 91:9
In Surah Ash-Shams, Allah mentions the human soul and what He inspired in it: its wickedness and its righteousness. Verse 9 declares that whoever purifies their soul succeeds, while the following verse states that whoever corrupts it is lost. Tazkiya means cultivating inner purity by turning to Allah. In daily life, it means choosing actions that elevate our heart and keep it away from what tarnishes it.
Today, take a moment to reflect on a bad habit you wish to purify, and decide on one small concrete action to move away from it.
