بُخْلٌ
This verse mentions two attitudes that the Quran often associates.
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ
But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need
Quran, Al-Lail 92:8
In this passage, Allah describes a person who holds back what they have and thinks they are rich enough to do without Him. The verse does not say why, but it brings these two traits together in one portrait. We can ask ourselves: do I cling to my possessions or my time? Do I think I can do without Allah's help? This reading invites a gentle reflection on our relationship with generosity and humility.
Today, give something small (a smile, help, a donation) while remembering that everything comes from Allah.
