سَائِل
This verse teaches us how to welcome those who seek our help.
وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنۡهَرۡ
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him].
Quran, Ad-Dhuhaa 93:10
In this verse, Allah commands not to repel the one who asks. The word 'sā'il' refers to anyone who makes a request, whether for material need or a question. The previous verse mentions the orphan, and the next one speaks of proclaiming Allah's blessings. Together, they form a call to kindness and gratitude. In daily life, we may feel rushed or annoyed by a request. Yet a gentle response, even when saying no, respects the other's dignity. This verse invites us to cultivate generosity of heart.
Today, if someone asks you for something, respond with a smile and a kind word, even if you cannot help.
