التَّكَاثُر
This verse reminds us that the relentless pursuit of wealth distracts us from what truly matters.
حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ
Until you visit the graveyards.
Quran, At-Takaathur 102:2
The previous verse mentions that competition in worldly increase diverts you. Here, the central verse specifies that this distraction lasts until death. Visiting the graveyards means dying and being buried. Thus, concern for material possessions occupies us until the end of our lives. This reality invites us to reflect: if we know death is certain, why let the accumulation of goods take all our attention? We can choose to refocus our priorities on what truly matters.
Today, take a moment to think about a material concern that consumes you, and decide on a simple action to detach from it, such as limiting your time on social media.
