الْخُسْر
This verse alerts us to an essential reality: without faith and good deeds, we are in loss.
إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ
Indeed, mankind is in loss.
Quran, Al-Asr 103:2
The verse states that mankind is in loss. But the following verse specifies an exception: those who believe, do righteous deeds, advise each other to truth, and advise each other to patience. These four qualities are combined to escape loss. In our daily lives, we can cultivate these qualities. Faith guides our actions, good deeds make them concrete, and patience helps us persevere. Recommending truth and patience supports each other.
Today, do one sincere small deed: help someone with patience, or remind them of a truth with kindness.
