إِكْرَامُ الْيَتِيمِ
This verse describes the one who denies the Recompense as the one who drives away the orphan.
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
Quran, Al-Maa'un 107:2
The verse associates denying the religion with driving away the orphan. It does not say that everyone who drives away an orphan is a disbeliever, but it draws a connection between these two attitudes. In our daily lives, we may be tempted to ignore or neglect vulnerable people, such as orphans. This verse invites us to reflect on our own behavior and to strive to treat them with kindness.
Today, take a moment to identify an orphan or a vulnerable person in your circle and do a concrete act of kindness towards them, such as a smile, help, or a gentle word.
