الْمَاعُون
This verse invites us to examine the purity of our intentions.
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُونَ
Those who make show [of their deeds]
Quran, Al-Maa'un 107:6
In Surah Al-Maa'un, Allah describes those who are heedless in prayer and act with ostentation. Verse 6 mentions that they seek to be seen and admired. The following verse adds that they also refuse to lend small useful items. These faults are associated in the same portrait. For us, this reminds us to check our intentions. When we help or pray, do we seek Allah's pleasure or people's praise? Sincerity purifies our deeds and makes us more attentive to others' needs.
Today, do a good deed discreetly, like lending a useful item, without telling anyone.
