الْعِلْمُ
This verse poses an essential question about the value of knowledge.
هَلۡ يَسۡتَوِي ٱلَّذِينَ يَعۡلَمُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَۗ
Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?"
Quran, Az-Zumar 39:9
In this verse, Allah asks the Prophet to pose a question: are those who know equal to those who do not know? The answer is clearly no. The verse associates this awareness with reflection: only people of understanding will remember. This question invites us to humbly recognize what we know and what we do not know. It encourages us to value knowledge without looking down on those who do not know, and to remain open to learning.
Today, take a moment to write down one thing you know and one thing you do not know, then thank Allah for the knowledge He has given you.
